Richland School District is pleased to not only offer excellent educational opportunities for the TK-8th grade students in Shafter, but provides numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's learning as well as extending their own learning.

Parents are invited to attend school events such as Parent Teacher Conferences, Tiger Assemblies, PTO events, and volunteer in their child's classroom.

Parents can also provide input into the educational experiences their children receive by attending the Golden Oak School Site Council and English Learner Advisory Committee meetings.

Finally, workshops covering parenting tips, money management, healthy choices and staying current with student academic progress are conducted throughout the year. See the Parent Resources section for details.
